Christine Sanley

Christine is originally from Omaha, Nebraska, the place where she first discovered her love of music. A recent graduate of Saint Louis University, she spent her college days as Music Director of KSLU, intern at KDHX, and booking manager for The Billiken Club, SLU’s on campus venue. After these two endeavors, Christine was certain she wanted to be involved in the music industry in several capacities. Along with jumping on board with the Pirate! team, Christine also works as an artist Manager with the Undertow Music Collective. Her interests include improving upon her record collection, photography, shuffleboard, and playing in the rain.

Steve Theo

Canada, both the tallest and youngest (Meredith is the youngest now) Pirate!, was born in the suburban outskirts of Boston, MA and raised by a new age hippies who named their son after a large Socialist country. He grew up as a quiet, fat kid who loved cartoons and Larry Bird. He got introduced to the world of college radio his freshmen year at UMass Lowell on WJUL, now WUML. He made many friends there but also made many enemies in the form of administration and decided to leave the university. His college radio career continued at Salem State College's WMWM hosting shows “The Shank house” and “No Listeners Guaranteed”.  While here he held both Music Director and General Manager positions, separately and at the same time. In the Summer of 2004 he figured it was about time to try and break into the music industry and e-mailed Steve Theo and asked him for an internship that fall. He got the internship and decided to keep showing up until he got hired. His plan worked and was hired the following summer. Since working for Pirate! he has gained notoriety for his sometimes freakish beard, marshmallow Fluff and his phone voice which was voted “Sexiest in the Industry” at the 2006 CMJ Awards. In his spare time he enjoys traveling, B-movies and pretending he knows how to play the guitar. Although no longer fat, he still loves cartoons and Larry Bird.

Douglas on Canada:
Canada as far as I can tell is Canadian. He likes to eat raw bears and has never seen his own feet. Sometimes when the weather is perfect ( 72) he likes to fly kites he makes out of blow pops.  They never get off the ground and they are often covered with gravel after 12 seconds.  Canada is allergic to the letter P and really likes the movie Harry and the Hendersons.  Little known fact: his cousin had the lead role in the move "Howard the Duck". (Canada's cousin is in fact a duck)

DB: What is the longest you ever held your breath?
C: *takes deep breath*(long pause) *GASP* How long was that? *pants heavily* *reads the word "pants" and laughs* Pants is a great word. This was easily the worst answer to any question ever.

DB: Have you ever been to Madagascar and if not can you tell me what you think it would be like
C: I have never been and I have never sen the movie but I bet it is exactly like that movie, completely CGI. It's basically what the future is like.

DB: What other languages do you know.
C: I know how to say "Where are the sausages?" in 7 languages. I am fluent in several dialects of Boston Townie including "Southie" and "Danviz". I also know "the International language" if you catch my drift, heh heh heh. I am so gross.

DB: Star Wars , GI Joe, He-Man or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?
C: I don't get it, what about them? They were all live action movies except for GI Joe. Man, I really hope they make that...

DB: Would you rather have hands but no arms or legs but no feet?
C: It seems to me this question is basically asking me if I want a helper monkey, so my answer is yes.

Steve Theo

Steve Theo grew up in Everett, MA and attended Bentley College in Waltham, MA. It was there he first found the world of radio at WBTY. That experience led to an internship at Planetary and a college rep position at Sony Music. After finishing school Steve moved to the big city of New York for a job at Columbia Records eventually running the college and metal departments. Steve didn't like the pace of the city so he moved back to Boston, worked at Planetary again for a few years, and then decided he wanted to be a Pirate! Steve likes Lobster, the Red Sox, the Celtics, the Wicked Pats, and pretends to be a bowler. On the weekends Steve still spins records for WFNX

Douglas Blake

Doug Blake grew up in Charleston SC before moving to Ledyard CT where he decided to attend UCONN. After 2 years of UCONN of which he remembers none he transferred to Georgia Southern University. Doug quickly became involved in Theatre and radio station WVGS where promoters called him. Doug discovered that these guys got paid to talk to him and decided that's what he wanted to do. Doug then moved back to CT and became Manager of a Local restaurant before moving to Boston.  Once in Boston Doug sent a resume every week( EVERY WEEK) to Planetary before they called him and asked him that if they gave him a job would he stop sending resumes. He agreed. After many adventures at Planetary Doug wanted to pursue his love of wine. Upon leaving Steve told Doug that he should join up and try promotion some more under the name VIKING. Doug thought the name Viking was really stupid and said he would come on board if it were called Pirate!  Doug likes to cook, drink wine, eat nachos, bowl, play tennis and make valentines mix cds.  He has a cat named Killer.

Brooke on Douglas:
Doug purchased some tripe once from a man that claimed his name was Rick James Brown.  He convinced Howie Mandel to let him trade it for a date with the $50 briefcase chick on "Deal or No Deal".  Turned out to be not such a sweet deal.  Doug wants to be the first man in history to give birth to Bindi Irwin and the other day I saw Marcel from Top Chef sit next to him on the train and offer him some tomato foam.  He got kicked off the train for eating it (duh, read the new rules) and had to pack his knives and go.  Sometimes when Doug is asleep he can perfectly imitate the sound of a bowling ball knocking down pins with all hardness in a killer strike maneuver.  He plays the clavicle in all "Wolf" and "Bear" bands and has had a luminous and successful acting career as the female lead in Showgirls, The Bodyguard and Swept Away. He won't tell you he was the choreographer for the famed N'SYNC concert "Pop Odyssey 2001" (he was!) and despite what some people say, Doug IS America (it's true! red white n blue!).

BB: Did you ever use the communal showers in the boys locker room in school?
DB: Ledyard CT has a population of 14,687 people and is named after Colonel William Ledyard a revolutionary war Era Solider who is infamous for being killed with his own saber after surrendering to the British at Fort Griswold. In his Will Colonel Ledyard requested that a high school be named after him and that the students have personal showers.

BB: If you could put any sports team on a flaming battleship to meet their demise who would it be and why?
DB: I would put the 1994 Yankees. By placing the 1994 Yankees on a flaming battleship I would then stop them from winning the world series 4 of the next 6 years. I would then have the Dallas cowboys be the only people able to help them in hopes that they too would perish at sea and if that did not work I would hire jaws to eat them.

BB: 13 Going on 30, My Father the Hero or Beaches?
DB: You know Gerard Depardieu is one of my favorite actors ever.  Here is a list of his movies of which I have heard some of them are good. I hear at one point he was married to Whoopi Goldberg but I think I may of just made that up.

* Last Holiday (2006) * Tais-toi! (2003) * Nathalie... BB: Give a percentage rate for how good you think you smell all the time. If it's not 100% please offer some suggestions as to how to improve on this.
DB: 75% of the time I smell good.  of the 25% I do not smell good  10% is because I had just played basketball and forgotten to bring a change of clothing afterwards and am therefore riding the train smelly. the other 15% is from hanging out in your closet as your roommate refers to as the BO-DOME. So maybe if I hung out there less.

BB: Who at Pirate! would you trust with your life and know would save you if you were about to be thrown into a volcano by the Capital One Vikings and/or tribesmen?
DB: Does Tom  hanks work at Pirate? cause he was in that movie castaway and was able to communicate with a volleyball and if you can communicate with one of those then you can surely communicate with the Vikings and or tribesmen.  I would like to announce we are going to hire Tom Hanks.
